Emily Rutherford
Chasing Canine Dog Walking & Training
Over the years I have worked with many different animals from zoo animals to companion animals. Since completing my BSc (Hons) degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare I have worked in the assistance dog industry at both Guide Dogs and Support Dogs training dogs to help people with disabilities, autism, and
epilepsy.
I own a Working Cocker Spaniel who has had a go at everything from Gundog work to Heelwork to Music. Her favourite sport is Agility, where she currently competes in grade 6, and in 2024 we qualified and placed at Crufts! As well as a rescue Welsh Sheepdog who has boundless energy and has started having a go at tricks and agility!

Puppy School Classes run on a Wednesday evening at Armthorpe Community Centre. To guarantee your puppy will get the best learning opportunities and individual attention, our class numbers are kept small (no more than six puppies).
As a Puppy School Tutor, I am part of a UK-wide group dedicated to obtaining the highest animal welfare goals. All of our tutors take delight in the lessons they teach their puppies. Everyone contributes on a regular basis to the special Puppy School forum, where ideas and problems are debated and solutions are proposed. This lets us draw on our vast collective experience as needed to assist puppies and their owners. So you know that the advice you are getting is up to date and comes from years of experience!
This course runs for 6 weeks (£95), after this you are welcome to progress on to the obedience or trick classes!
