About Catherine

After completing an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare I embarked on a career Lecturing in Animal Management. Early on in my role I realised that I could combine my passion of education with my background in animal behaviour and welfare to help prevent behaviour problems. It was soon after this in 2004 that I applied to become a Puppy School Tutor.

As well as running weekly Puppy School classes in Taunton I am the Regional Manager to a team of amazing Puppy School tutors and assist Gwen Bailey, the founder of Puppy School, to deliver the Puppy School Tutor training courses on a National level.

I am an Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Animal Training Instructor and a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors. As a practicing animal behaviourist I am reminded daily of how important Puppy School classes are in the early prevention of a range of behaviours that can be problematic for owners and stressful for their dog.

My life is made complete by my wonderful husband, two daughters, two German Short Haired Pointers and 2 horses, living my best life on the Quantock Hills.

Kerry Baillie and Chloe Kirkpatrick are my associate Puppy School tutors running Puppy classes at Middlezoy and Bridgwater respectively. They have completed the mandatory training with Puppy School. Chloe is a registered Animal Training instructor with the ABTC and Kerry is currently working towards this.

Class Information

We run Puppy School classes at three different locations; Bridgwater, Middlezoy and Ash Priors near Taunton, in the evenings. Our classes are a safe place for you and your puppy to learn how to train your puppy using only positive methods. With class sizes being small (maximum of 6 puppies) you can be sure to receive lots of 121 support from Chloe, Kerry or myself. Puppy School classes are for puppies under 20 weeks of age so you can be sure that all puppies are at the same stage of development. Once you and your puppy have graduated from Puppy School you can continue the fun and join our Junior course.
